HouseShaw started out from a home office, in a shed, at the bottom of the garden. We are proud of our roots, and very pleased to have grown into a commercial office space for all our landlords and tenants to visit us at.
Managing Director, John Shaw, started out building his own property portfolio in 2009, self managing all he could until it was too much for him alone. The company progressed into assisting other landlords fill their vacancies in 2015, then onto managing those tenancies, and houses, amassing a sizeable portfolio across the South of Bucks and surrounding areas that is managed today.
Gaining first hand experience of all sorts of property, from single let flats and houses, to big HMO’s, the experience the HouseShaw Team has to offer will compliment any landlord looking to work with us.
Our growth has necessitated excellent systems to manage all the processes of letting properties, and managing them. We employ the best software, have invested in the best office and marketing equipment, and have a growing team of property experts running the core of HouseShaw’s day to day activities.
HouseShaw are also proud members of ARLA Property Mark, an opt-in regulatory body that ensures our compliance and processes meet modern standards, which include handling client money properly and with insurance to protect it, linking with redress schemes, and most importantly operating with the knowledge and understanding of the legislation that we work within, validated by industry recognised examinations and qualifications.
We are a growing business and we want to grow with you, so if there is something we can help you with please get in touch. The property arena has become a very highly regulated industry in recent years. The positive impact on this is to overall improve service and safety. We are pleased to be at the forefront of current legislation, for the protection of you and your properties, but more importantly, your tenants.
Association of Residential Letting Agents
We are proud members of ARLA, an accreditation received that only experience and knowledge can reward. Trust in HouseShaw, that you are dealing with a company where all managers are ARLA qualified, and that we do things properly, and legally from the word go. We encourage and support our junior team to become qualified as well, widening the knowledge of Lettings and Property Management within the team.
Client Money Protection
As a requirement of to be members of ARLA, your money; or the rent we collect on behalf of you, must be protected by an insurance backed guarantee, and transacted through a specially set up Client Account that does not mix with our day to day overheads and expenses. HouseShaw does exactly this. It has also been a legal requirement for Lettings Agents since April 2019.
Property Redress Scheme
HouseShaw has been affiliated with the PRS for many years now, this is also a requirement for ARLA members, and is there for satisfaction should things go wrong. We are pleased to say, this has not been required to date!
